Toyota Motors, KDDI, and Japan Navitime have developed a platform that can link mobile phones and vehicle navigation systems. The destination information that can be searched in advance can be sent to the car navigator through the Bluetooth wireless wireless when riding and set it as a destination. KDDI and Japan Navitime developed a system that can send the location information of the mobile phone through Bluetooth to the car navigator. Toyota is responsible for receiving information at the end of the navigator, setting as a destination, and carrying out new functional development of route navigation.
In order to protect the user information sent with a mobile phone, through the introduction of the authentication function, the navigation instrument model that can receive mobile phone information is limited. The Bluetooth protocol uses OPJECTPUSHPROFILE). The files used to display location information are formats in international standard KML (KeyholemarkupLanguage) format.
Three companies such as Toyota also plans to link them with pedestrian navigation services. It is expected that the new service in the first half of 2009 will enter the practical stage, and can be forwarded to Toyota's navigator to search for information on "Eznaviwalk" service. Eznaviwalk is a walking navigation service provided by the AU mobile phone of KDDI.
