Unicom introduces the SnapTrack technology based gpsOne solution to solve the problem of mobile station positioning. It takes advantage of the advantages of C network in data transmission, utilizes the computing power of MSC, and uses base station assisted positioning to convert some of the calculation work during GPS positioning from the mobile station to MSC, and then transmits the results (i.e. the longitude and latitude of the mobile station) to users through the network. Unicom's gpsOne and A-GPS systems (GPS assisted systems) stand out among numerous positioning technologies, combining GPS satellite signals with range information from base stations to determine the location of mobile phones or other devices, even in environments such as buildings and high-density urban buildings.
Based on this technology, China Unicom Guomai Communication is vigorously developing the second link of the industrial chain, continuously improving the GIS system (Geographic Information System), and launching the "IGoGo" gpsOne positioning application based on BREWs (Wireless Binary Runtime Environment), which can provide services such as "find myself", "route query", "map pointing", "city information" (such as finding restaurants, shopping malls, etc.), and "bus information".
