When car owners buy GPS, in addition to paying attention to navigation performance and price, do you know the invisible harm that GPS will bring to the body if the radiation exceeds the standard?

Recently, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China announced the results of national supervision and random inspection of the quality of automotive GPS navigation products. Among the 12 batches of unqualified products, 11 batches of products failed due to radiation disturbance/radiation disturbance field strength. Not only does it interfere with the operation of other electronic devices, but long-term use can also cause adverse consequences such as headache, insomnia, and memory loss.

　　11 batches of products failed

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine inspected 81 batches of automotive GPS navigation products produced by 81 enterprises in six provinces, cities and municipalities including Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Fujian, Hunan, and Guangdong. Radio disturbance limits and measurement methods", GB/T 19392-2003 "General Specifications for Automotive GPS Navigation Systems" and other standards, the system positioning accuracy, position update rate, power terminal disturbance voltage/power terminal interference of automotive GPS navigation products 19 items such as voltage, radiation disturbance/radiation disturbance field strength were inspected, and the pass rate of random inspection was about 85%.

Among the car GPS navigation products sampled this time, 12 batches of products did not meet the standard requirements, and the unqualified items involved were: radiation disturbance/radiation disturbance field strength, power terminal disturbance voltage/power terminal disturbance voltage. Among them, 11 batches of unqualified items are radiation disturbance/radiation disturbance field strength.

What is radiation harassment? Simply put, it means that the intensity of electromagnetic waves emitted by electronic products exceeds the regulatory limit.

　　Interfering with on-board electronics

According to Director Hu of the Municipal Electronic and Electrical Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Station, according to the compatibility between electronic products, if the car GPS

Navigation radiation disturbance/radiation interference field strength may interfere with the stability of other on-board electronic products in the car, such as inexplicable crashes. If the radiation harassment is serious, it may also interfere with electronic devices such as mobile phones and Bluetooth headsets carried by drivers or passengers.

As for whether the radiation exceeding the standard is harmful to the human body, Director Hu said that the testing center has not accepted the detection of GPS navigation products, and there is no clinical verification, so it cannot be easily concluded.

Mr. Zhou, a staff member of an automotive supplies center in the Auto Expo Center, revealed that the phenomenon of excessive radiation in GPS navigation products was mainly caused by the manufacturers cutting corners and cutting corners in order to reduce costs. In addition, some small companies simply do not have the ability to solve the problem of radiation harassment, and even do not even know this indicator exists.

Mr. Zhou believes that poor-quality GPS navigation products and cottage products are very likely to have excessive radiation. If the radiation of vehicle-mounted electronic products is too strong, long-term use will lead to adverse consequences such as headache, insomnia, and memory loss.

Chongqing has not seen black list products

Yesterday afternoon, reporters from Chongqing Evening News came to Auto Expo Center Auto Supplies and Yuzhong District Medical School Road Auto Supplies Distribution Market, and visited the stores selling GPS navigation supplies for cars one by one, and found no products on the list of unqualified products.

A salesperson representing Lingsheng navigation products said that general electronic products have radiation, mainly to see if they are within the legal range. "This is not something consumers worry about, it's something manufacturers worry about." He explained that it is difficult for ordinary people to tell whether the radiation exceeds the standard, and there is no corresponding testing equipment in the sales store, so there is no way to know which device has excessive radiation. information issued by the competent authority.
