The system is mainly composed of GPS receiver and NI PXI acquisition equipment. The structure is shown in Figure 2:

  1. GPS receiver system composition

The input end of the GPS synchronous clock receiver is connected with a GPS signal receiving antenna to receive the clock signal sent from the GPS satellite. The output end is divided into three parts:

10M PPS (Pulse Per Second) signal: used to synchronize the acquisition system as the sampling fundamental frequency of the acquisition system. This signal does not contain any time information, but is a simple pulse signal with a pulse interval of 10 nanoseconds.

PPS (Pulse Per Second) signal: used by the acquisition system to trigger acquisition. This signal is the same as above. It is only a simple pulse signal with a pulse interval of 1 second. Absolute time (GMT) signal: It is used to replace the time tag of the acquisition system itself. This signal adopts NEMA standard.

As shown in the figure, PPS (Pulse Per Second) signal is a very simple pulse signal that does not contain any time information (such as year or month). Take 1 PPS as an example. One pulse occurs every second, and the width of each pulse is usually 100 milliseconds. PPS signal is a relatively simple synchronization technology, but its effect is no less than any complex synchronization clock signal.
