　　A positioning system is an interrelated collection or device (component) formed with the goal of determining spatial location. This system can ensure that at least 4 satellites can be simultaneously observed at any point on Earth at any time, ensuring that the satellites can collect the longitude, latitude, and height of the observation point, in order to achieve navigation, positioning, timing and other functions. This technology can be used to guide aircraft, ships, vehicles, and individuals to safely and accurately follow the selected route and arrive at their destination on time.

　　In addition to GPS from the United States, mainstream positioning systems also include China's Beidou satellite navigation system, the European Union's Galileo satellite navigation system, and the Russian global navigation satellite system.

　　The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite system composed of 24 satellites covering the world. It is the second generation satellite navigation system developed by the United States on the basis of the Meridian Satellite Navigation System, and it adopts the successful experience of the Meridian System. Like the meridian system, the GPS positioning system consists of three parts: the space part, the ground monitoring part, and the user receiver.
