Bluetooth GPS receiver was a star in 2005, and it is very convenient to connect laptops, PDAs, and even smartphones wirelessly. It can also achieve flexible placement, so it is widely welcomed by users. Due to the inherent analog serial port function of the Bluetooth standard, it is also relatively good in terms of electronic map compatibility, but sometimes there are incompatibilities.
This is the world's first wireless GPS system, equipped with a built-in antenna and rechargeable lithium battery. It weighs only 60 grams (including the battery) and is only the size of a regular business card (9 × five × 1.7 cm), can work continuously for 6-8 hours after charging. It connects to a host with Bluetooth through a Bluetooth virtual serial port, allowing existing GPS software to be used directly without modification (existing devices can expand USB or CF card Bluetooth interfaces for just over 300 yuan). Due to the fact that this device does not require any driver to be installed on the host, it can be used for various operating systems: Windows CE, Pocket PC, PALM, JAVA, Windows 98/2000/XP, and all hosts with Bluetooth devices. The disadvantage of Bluetooth GPS [1] is that it requires a battery and frequent charging, and many users are not familiar with the software settings of Bluetooth devices. In addition, the price is slightly higher (around 800 yuan), and the application is not widespread enough. However, as more and more laptops integrate Bluetooth functionality, Bluetooth GPS is expected to become the mainstream product in the market.
