The current vehicle navigation system includes two parts: global positioning system and vehicle automatic navigation system. Car navigation equipment is generally composed of GPS antenna, host integrated with display screen and function keys, and voice output equipment (generally using car audio system to output voice prompt information). Due to the limitation of the installation position in the vehicle, the general vehicle navigation equipment and the vehicle video audio are combined to play CDs, VCDs and DVDs. The DVD drive is responsible for reading the electronic map DVD. Therefore, some vehicle navigation systems are also called DVD navigation systems.
The GPS signal receiver in the vehicle navigation system receives the signal sent by the satellite, and calculates the current position of the ground receiver according to the satellite signal. If the ground receiver receives more than 4 satellite signals at the same time, it can calculate the current location according to the precise location of the satellite and the time of sending the signal. The vehicle navigation system obtains data through three sensors, including wheel sensor, geomagnetic sensor and yaw sensor, to determine the speed and position of the vehicle. The wheel sensor records the speed of the wheel, and the pulse signal generated is used to calculate the travel distance and direction change at fixed time. The geomagnetic sensor induces voltage pulse through the excitation winding to measure the magnitude of the horizontal component of the geomagnetic field along the way and the comparison with the magnetic field at the starting point, so as to provide compensation data for the on-board computer. The electronic map storage capacity can store all the data of the vehicle operation area. The on-board computer and the stored road network data are constantly compared and judged, and the positioning error is corrected to determine the best driving path.
At present, the advanced automobile navigation system has a multi-purpose microcontroller structure, an embedded operating system, and software code stored in ROM. The code is simple, reliable, and fast to start and close. It has almost complete PC components and input and output ports, which can adapt to the harsh working environment of automobiles. It has high reliability in high temperature or low temperature and severe vibration environments.
