GPS requires three satellites for accurate positioning, but since satellite clock frequencies are different from those of the receiver (satellites use rubidium and cesium clocks, which are highly accurate, while GPS receivers have very low precision clocks), at least four satellites are needed for positioning.
GPS is the United States military purpose and the establishment of the current application is divided into two aspects: military and civilian, purely from the point of view of technology, due to the progress of technology, the accuracy of GPS can reach centimeters or even higher.
