Preparation before using GPS

　　Prepare spare batteries, compass and paper map before departure.

　　Clear the TRACK and odometer in GPS after arriving at the mountain entrance. Because people often have to travel tens of thousands of kilometers to reach their destination by car, if there are too many track points in GPS, the accuracy of the waypoints used when returning in the future will be seriously affected: GPS will think that you want to return to the first point in the GPS track points, so 30 waypoints will be used to show the route of tens of kilometers, and the accuracy will be very poor.

　　Take a pen and paper with you and record some waypoints recorded in the climbing process, so that you can go home and sort them out in the future.

　　Protect the GPS receiver in the field. It is recommended to have a knitted jacket to prevent scratches and collisions. Generally, GPS receivers can work well in this kind of sheath.

　　When using GPS, consciously collect some landmark information, that is, define a waypoint in these places. These landmark information include: fork roads, water sources, platform rest places, etc. Sharing these data is very helpful for other hikers.
