From the construction of the Global Positioning System (GPS) in the late 1970s to 2020, the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) consisting of multiple constellations belongs to the second generation of navigation satellite systems, including GPS in the United States, GLONASS in Russia Four global systems, including China's BeiDou navigation satellite system (BDS) and Europe's Galileo navigation satellite system (Galileo), as well as two regional systems, including Japan's quasi zenith satellite system (QZSS) and India's regional navigation satellite system (IRNSS), are included, IRNSS is also known as navigation with Indian constellations (NavIC).
