　　The positioning principle of a GPS locator is to obtain its own longitude and latitude through a GPS positioning chip, encode it through a control module, convert the longitude and latitude into coordinate values, and then transmit them back to the operator's GPS server through the ground network.

　　In order to save costs and space, current GPS locators generally integrate GPS chip modules, communication modules, and the main control module of GPS locators, which we refer to as GPS modules. So the size of the GPS locator is determined by the size of the GPS module and the size of the battery

　　If button batteries are used for power supply, theoretically GPS locators can only achieve module size (including SIM card slots). However, it is well known that the capacity of button batteries is only a few tens of mah, and the power required by GPS locators is much higher than that of so-called remote controllers and other devices. Due to power limitations, if real-time positioning or tracking is carried out like in movies, the device will consume electricity in a short period of time.

　　So the battery size has become the decisive factor in determining the size of GPS locators. In order to expand the battery capacity and extend the usage time, the current market mostly uses No. 5 dry battery power supply (long standby) or other rechargeable batteries for power supply (short standby). To track the target in real-time, the working time of the device can be determined by referring to the available time of the phone. However, if it is only for security needs such as anti-theft, GPS locators can generally use an internal clock to switch on and off the device at a fixed time, with a standby time of up to 3 years or more.
