There are three parts to the GPS plan

　　1. Scheme demonstration and preliminary design stage. From 1973 to 1979, the United States launched 4 test satellites, established a ground tracking network, and studied the corresponding hardware such as satellite receivers.

　　Second, the comprehensive development and testing stage. From 1979 to 1984, seven more test satellites (Block I satellites) were launched and corresponding research was carried out.

　　3. Practical networking stage. On February 4, 1984, the first GPS working satellite (Block II satellite) was successfully launched, announcing that the GPS system has entered the construction stage. With the launch of subsequent satellites, a global positioning system has been gradually established. The system consists of 21 working satellites, which are evenly distributed on 6 orbital planes (4 in each orbital plane), and the orbital inclination angle is 55°. Theoretical research shows that the precise location can be obtained as long as more than 4 GPS satellites can be observed anywhere in the world
