In addition to the common GPS, we can often see A-GPS on some mobile terminals such as mobile phones. A-GPS is called the Assisted Global Positioning System (AGPS). It can use the information of mobile base stations to cooperate with traditional GPS satellites to make positioning faster. We can also call it network assisted navigation, which reduces the dependence of GPS chips on satellites, and uses the data of base stations to accurately locate GPS. Because GPS needs to exchange data with satellites at all times, when entering some regions without open space, such as tunnels, GPS navigation will lose its effectiveness. At this time, it is necessary to use A-GPS for auxiliary positioning. However, if only A-GPS is used for positioning without GPS technology, the accuracy of positioning will be greatly reduced due to the base station and signals, so A-GPS is mostly used as a supplement when GPS loses signals. In addition, it should be noted that A-GPS needs to rely on the traffic resources of operators, so it will involve certain traffic costs.
Among the many technical parameters, there is another "GPRS" that is easy to confuse. Technically, GPRS is a mobile data service available to GSM mobile phone users in the field of data communication. It has no direct relationship with the positioning and navigation we often say. You can pay more attention when purchasing related products to prevent being deceived by unscrupulous merchants.
